Imprint of Hill and Habitat

Today – Wide Open Spaces

I have been working on a new lino cut that is based on a photo I took on a cold afternoon walk in the New Year. There were families walking over the hills who were silhouetted against a cold bright sky.

I decided on a long thin format which I think works very well with the image. Yet again this is not a reduction print but a print from 3 separate blocks.

Work in progress. As you can see the image on the plate is not too precise.

This is the draft print from the above plate. This is useful to do periodically to see if you are getting what you want.

This a draft of 3 layers, although the third layer is not that obvious on newsprint. It will be fun to put this onto some decent paper next!
