The Tapestry was finally finished last month and displayed at St Michael’s Church in town over two weekends. It is truly splendid and a real tribute to the organisers, participants and Macclesfield.
It is wonderfully bright and colourful, yet the restricted yarns and single designer have given it a real coherence. The six larger panels either side are more narrative in style and complete the whole.
I am looking forward to its next exhibition in September.
