52 Frames Black and White Minimalism Week 42

Oct 23, 2022 | 52Frames, Birds, Drawing, Trees | 0 comments

This week 52Frames has set the challenge of Black and White Minimalism. I think this is quite similar to some of the other challenges. I thought I might do another white on black, maybe a feather. Then I came across photos of jackdaws outside my house that I periodically take and thought that would work well. I wanted to do the drawing with my nib pen and quink but was a bit undecided how to make the background interesting. In the end I wet the paper, ran the ink in and then dragged it with a piece of board. I like the result, but think it would have worked really well on slightly better paper. However it really adds some interest to  the image. Overall I am quite pleased with it, although I am not sure it 100% answers the brief!
