Redo Week 52

The challenge this week is Redo. I chose the image I had done for Chaos for a couple of reasons. I enjoyed the process but was not happy with the end result. The oil pastel and Indian Ink etching is something I have wanted to experiment with. It was not a time consuming method and its Christmas and New Year week and I have been away. I wanted to see if I could really improve on the final result. I chose a different image, I thought the silhouettes of the people worked much better than the non specific foreground.

I used much thicker and bolder and oil pastels this time. I thought I could layer the colours but that didn’t work that well. It has resulted in really nice white and orange, but the red and yellow are still a bit lost. The etching technique has worked much better. I like the fact that I have fireworks again for the week of new year.
