52Frames Abstract week 20

The challenge put by 52Frames this week was abstract. This is, in theory, almost easier in art than photography.

When I was in Pembrokshire with friends a couple of years ago, I took some photos of interesting rock formations.

I thought they would work well for this brief. I did however want to go colourful, so I soaked a page with water and dropped some Dr Martin’s undiluted colours on, moving the page around to get the runs. I then tried, very freely, to  add in the shapes of the holes with permannet drawing pens. The finished drawing reminds me of some embroidered pieces I have seen in a book I own.
