52Frames Shoot From Below Week 49

Shoot from below is the challenge this week for 52Frames. I was stuck for an idea and then I found a stencil for some paper cut birds I had made at college. These were done for an animation that never went ahead. Another project waiting to be moved on. I thought they would be fun to revisit and I used the stencil to make new birds in crisp white paper. I had some lovely sky photos I had taken at my mums a few years ago and I put one of these in photoshop filters. It has just softened it a bit.

The seagulls have been given a little bit of detail, and then stuck onto the photo. I tried not to overwork them. The paper cut element helps gives a slightly 3D feel.

It makes me think of sunny days with the birds wheeling overhead and the sun reflecting off their feathers.
