Inspired by a holiday this project started off being about Yellowstone National Park. However during my research I became fascinated by the lifecycle of the Lodgepole Pine. A large percentage of seeds from this tree need heat to germinate. As the tree ages it is susceptible to infestation by the Mountain Pine Beetle and the Bluestain Fungus it carries. This leads to the death of the tree, which are at risk of fuelling forrest fires, thereby causing seeds to germinate.

A large boxed book with loose pages, each featuring an important step in this cycle, was the final outcome, but a lot of smaller works were produced along the way.
