52Frames Unexplored Week 7

Feb 18, 2022 | 52Frames, Drawing, Painting | 0 comments

This week’s 52Frames challenge is unexplored, to visit and photograph somewhere you haven’t been before. I had a couple of ideas, but one was quite complicated and this week I was a bit short of time.

On Thursday friends took me out for breakfast to Ernespie Farm, near Castle Douglas, and we passed this little cottage on the roadside. I had been thinking of using pen and wash this week and it seemed an appropriate media for this image.

Again the paper is not very good for watercolour, and there are some marks in the sky which appeared out of nowhere. However I like the little book and the size restriction. The colour palette is limited and I am pleased with some areas, parts of the sky particularly and the wires. The roof needed reworking which affected the sky area near that.
