52Frames Lamp Week 16

The challenge for 52Frames this week is Lamp. The challenge specifies that the lamp must appear in the image. I decided I would try and use one of my glass oil lamps, which oddly I had just put oil in for the first time in years! The background was a purple blanket hung in a fairly dark area of the house, and I used my glasses and a postcard as props.

I took some photos for reference. I was not sure I was going to have time to do what I wanted, but I sat down this morning and this was done by lunch time. I put an acrylic paint wash on, and then some more paint. In the kitchen there is a tin of pastel pencils someone gave me, that I have not used before. They got opened and added to the mix. I am really pleased with the combination, especially as it is not what I intended to use.

The shape of the glasses is not quite right. I have real trouble doing circles at an angle. Overall though I think it is quite pleasing and I had great fun doing it,
